Become An Archery Instructor or Coach!

Griffin Archery is now offering the USA Archery Instructor Level 1 and Level 2 Practical Courses periodically throughout the year.  

The style of archery taught is called “National Training System” which has been developed by the National Coach for USA Archery. NTS helps archers maintain a consistent shooting form through a proven shooting sequence and body awareness.

USA Archery Level 1

The USA Archery Level 1 Instructor certification course provides graduates the necessary tools to maintain a high level of safety both on and off the archery range for camps and beginner archery programs. The USA Archery Level 1 Instructor will learn about range safety, range setup, the steps of shooting, equipment and repair, programs and lesson plans and is well prepared to teach beginner archery programs to people of all ages and abilities in a variety of disciplines. Minimum Age to take the course is 15 yrs old.

As a Level 1 instructor, you will be qualified to be the lead Instructor for an Explore Archery Program or archery summer camp activities.

In order to successfully complete the requirements for this certification, students will need to:

Step 1: Sign up for USA Archery Level 1 Instructor Online Course and pass the exam. $40 payable to USA Archery.

Step 2: Register for and complete the 4hrs "in person" Level 1 Practical Course held at Griffin Archery.  $100 payable to Griffin Archery.

USA Archery Level 2

The Level 2 Archery Instructor Certification provides graduates the necessary tools to serve as the lead instructor for long-term archery programs such as Junior Olympic Archery Development (JOAD), Adult Archery Program and Collegiate Archery Program clubs, as well as the Explore Archery Program. 

The Level 2 Archery Instructor Certification Online Course includes the Level 1 Archery Instructor Certification Online Course information and provides students with an introduction to the National Training System (NTS) Steps of Shooting for recurve and compound, equipment and accessory setup, athlete development and events. Minimum Age to take this course is 18yrs old. You don't have to take Level 1 first.  The Level 2 course includes Level 1 material.

In order to successfully complete the requirements for this certification, students will need to:

Step 1: Obtain membership to USA Archery or NFAA 

Step 2: Obtain Center for Safe Sport Certification. Approx. 4hrs - Free.

Step 3: USA Archery Background Screening. Takes approx. 10 business days - $35 payable to USA Archery.

Step 4: Register for the USA Archery Level 2 Instructor Online Course and pass the exam. Approx. 8hrs -  $50 payable to USA Archery.

Step 5: Register for and successfully complete the 8hrs "in person" Level 2 Practical Course held at Griffin Archery.  $225 payable to Griffin Archery (Includes Lunch).
