SPIDERx Youth Program
Team SPIDERx @ Griffin Archery
Our SPIDERx Youth Archery Program offers weekly practices for ages 8-20, focused on competitive skill development, tournament preparation, and a team atmosphere where young archers can connect and grow together. We prepare the youth for all competition formats and archery organizations. There is a Pin Program and Team Jerseys.
Our Griffin Archery Team SPIDERx is a satellite location of Texas Archery’s SPIDERx Program. When your archer goes to a competition, they will be part of the larger Team SPIDERx group and have peers to shoot with.
Who Can Apply?
· Youth ages 8-20 with their own equipment
· Need to have archery shooting experience
· If competing already, can submit last year’s scores for jersey & pin placement
Don’t have equipment or shooting experience?
· Attend Griffin Archery’s Beginner Archery Classes or Youth Explore Archery Classes to be taught form and shooting techniques. Classes include equipment.
Does My Youth Have to Compete in Archery Tournaments and how do they work?
· No, your youth doesn’t have to compete, but the goal is to get them comfortable to where they will want to. There are awards, scholarship money and even college scholarships available in archery. It is also a lifelong sport that can put food on the table if ever interested in hunting.
· There are local, state and national tournaments that are broken into Indoor Season & Outdoor Season as well as state, national and international one-off tournaments.
· Parents are responsible for signing up for their youth and transporting them to and from the events, including providing accommodation if needed.
· Griffin Archery hosts the 30 Arrow ArkLaTex Indoor Archery Trail that kicks off Oct 24th in LA. Four Shops/Locations participating. The Championship will be hosted at Griffin Archery Jan 30-Feb 1. Must shoot two locations to shoot in the championship. This is a great way to get into competition archery. Only 30 arrows that are shot in about 1 hour. Awards and Youth Scholarship Money.
· Griffin Archery hosts the 60 arrow Indoor Shoot Your Way Across Texas (SYWAT) that kicks off Oct 25. Over 30 Locations across Texas. The State Championship is in Roanoke TX Feb 27 – Mar 1. 60 arrows are shot over approx. 2-3 hours. Awards available.
